Single Course Enrolments

2025 Applications Open Now

Applications must be submitted via email from the home school to dubbo-d.enrolments@det.nsw.edu.au (Please do not send directly from a printer or by mail).

Application for single course provision within quota categories and single course provision for languages (outside quota) must be submitted by Friday, November 8th 2024, and finalised by Friday, 14th February 2025 to facilitate timely provisions of the Distance Education program. Applications after this date can only be considered if endorsed by the Director, Educational Leadership for the requesting government school or in the case of non-government schools the Director, Rural and Distance Education. Application for students beginning a HSC course should be made by Friday 13th September in preparation for Term 4 commencement of work. 

Placement in a course is dependent on availability. A place cannot be guaranteed until the single course provision application is received and completed in full.

An extract for share on ERN will be completed by DSODE upon enrolment of applications from DOE schools.

*The single course application is an interactive PDF. Please download and open the document in Adobe Acrobat and select "Fill & Sign" to digitally sign. Applications will not be processed without signatures. 


Language Students

In addition to the enrolment form, Stage 6 Beginners language applicants must complete and submit the NESA Beginners Eligibility Declaration and Stage 6 Continuers language applicants must complete and submit the NESA Continuers Eligibility Determination. 

Continuing Students

Students are enrolled with Dubbo School of Distance Education in stages. If your student enrolled in a Year 9 or Year 11 subject they will be automatically rolled up unless otherwise specified. Year 10 into Year 11 enrolment requires a new application to be filled out by the home school.

Single Course Supervisors are required to indicate through the DEMS portal whether Year 9 or Year 11 students are continuing into the next year. See the instructions below.

Late Enrolment Applications

Application for single course provision within quota categories and single course provision for languages (outside quota) must be submitted by Friday, November 8th 2024, and finalised by Friday, 14th February 2024 to facilitate timely provisions of the Distance Education program. Applications after this date that do not fall under the category of the student's study being interrupted by transfer, can only be considered if endorsed by the Director, Educational Leadership for the requesting government school or in the case of non-government schools the Director, Rural and Distance Education. 

For applications after the cut-off date that are not due to a transfer of school, the home school needs to fill out the late enrolment application below as well as the single course provision application and follow instructions for application for approval.

Change of Single Course Supervisor

If your school has a change of single course supervisor, the new supervisor is required to fill out the below form and submit it via email to dubbo-d.enrolments@det.nsw.edu.au

Withdrawing from a Subject

If students choose to discontinue the subject they are studying through Dubbo School of Distance Education, the home school needs to notify DSODE in writing or complete and sign the Single Course Leaver's Form (PDF 118KB)* and email it directly to: dubbo-d.enrolments@det.nsw.edu.au

*The leaver's form is interactive but will need to be physically signed and scanned. The student will not be processed as a leaver until DSODE has received official written notification from the school.

Distance Education Millennium Schools (DEMS)

The DEMS School Portal is the gateway for supervising students studying via Distance Education. The Portal allows for the sharing of various information, including student engagement, semester reports, and communications in the course, as well as attendance monitoring.
